Artists are invited to produce an edition of prints which are divided equally between themselves and the printmaking studio. The collaboration between artist and printmaker, provides an opportunity to develop ideas and motifs through print. Historically the results often develop into a life long dialogue between printmaking and the artist’s practice.

Güler Ates

The first edition is from internationally acclaimed artist Güler Ates.

The image takes Ates’ signature image of a veiled figure, in the Royal Academy of Art’s Research Library (the oldest institutional fine arts library in the United Kingdom). The library has served the needs of Royal Academicians, students and scholars for over 200 years.

Wing of Yellow II is a two colour polymer photogravure, printed in a rich black and opulent Indian Yellow producing a striking image in an edition of just 40.
